The Full Flavor of It
H1B results came out today. Didn't get picked.
We tried. It's beyond our control now.遗憾, but not悲伤.总结分析,战略转移, try again next year. That's it — no need to make it more than it is.
Back to building.
Challenges
There are all kinds of challenges in this work:
Bugs and workflows. Model training that doesn't converge the way you expected. Performance numbers that need to be better. Scrapers that break and have to be rewritten. Researching how something works, why it works that way, whether it needs to. And the whole separate universe of working with people — aligning expectations, negotiating priorities, reading between the lines. People work is its own skill, and I think it's the hardest one.
None of this is unique to today. None of this is going away. That's exactly what makes it interesting.
On Choices
One thing I've learned: when the factors are fixed and you've done your research, you just make the call.
High school teachers used to tell us — trust your first instinct on multiple choice. Once you've decided, commit. Give it everything. Then accept the result and move forward.
犹豫 and 内耗 are luxuries you can't afford when the situation is already decided. Summary, analyze, extract the lesson, then forward.
Five Flavors
Life has its seasons.
Sometimes 风平浪静 — calm water, steady wind. Sometimes 波涛汹涌 — waves and wind. Both are part of the same ocean. Both are beautiful in their own way. The calm days are real good, not a consolation prize. The rough days are where you find out what you're made of.
The point isn't to chase difficulty for its own sake. The point is to taste what's actually there. Salt, acid, sweetness, bitterness, umami — they need each other. 人生需要来点酸甜苦辣咸: 五味调和, enjoy不一样的每一天.
乘风破浪 tomorrow.
